When you combine panel-displaying iParts on the same content record, data might appear out of sync after the user edits it, if both panels display the same property. You can solve this refresh problem through the iPart’s Connect feature, which you enable separately from Configure.

Note: Check an iPart’s Configuration Help topic to find out if it supports any connection options. An iPart has no connection support (neither consumer nor provider) unless its author added it.
To connect panels for dynamic updating
1. Edit a content record and add two user-editable iParts that display panels (Panel Editor, Panel Collection Editor).
2. Set up the first connection:
□ From the first iPart’s title-bar menu, select Connect.
The Connect box that opens shows you any current connections and lets you disconnect them.
□ Select Create a new connection.
The Connect box that pops up prompts you to create one of four connection types.
Tip: Do not be misled by the language of connection. The Consumer is the actor that triggers a refresh on another iPart, and the Provider provides a pointer to itself to the Consumer.
□ From the Object Consumer drop list, select the panel iPart you want to refresh.
□ Select Connect.
3. Set up the second connection:
□ From the second iPart’s title-bar menu, select Connect, and select Create a new connection.
□ From the Object Consumer drop list, select the first iPart.
□ Select Connect.
You should see a pair of connections, for mutual refreshing.

4. Save and Publish the content record.
